Horse Public Liability Insurance
From £5.75 per month + Extra Perks
Whether you call it rider insurance, third-party horse insurance, or equine liability cover; public liability insurance for horse riders is widely recommended.
Regardless of how well you know the roads and riding route, or how experienced you are as a horse owner, you still never know what could happen.
What is horse public liability insurance?
Public liability insurance for horse owners and riders protects you if your horse causes injury to a third party or damages their property.
If someone makes a successful claim against you, the policy can pay compensation and legal costs up to £10M.
This helps to safeguard your finances and personal assets.
Often referred to as third-party horse insurance, this cover applies whether you are riding, handling or simply responsible for the horse.
It also ensures you are protected if you are found legally liable for an incident involving your horse.
Why might you need public liability insurance for your horse?
Even the calmest and most experienced horses can react unpredictably, and a simple spook, kick or loose horse can result in serious injury or costly property damage.
Riding on public roads or busy bridleways brings additional challenges, and you cannot rely on drivers or pedestrians to behave responsibly.
Retired to field horses could still pose a risk if they were to escape and cause injury or property damage.
Public liability insurance is equally important when you ride or loan someone else’s horse, as you could still be held legally responsible for an accident.
Harry Hall One Club includes up to £10M public liability, £10K personal accident and £50K equine legal expenses cover.
Designed to support you if a third party brings an action against you as the legal owner, rider, or person in full care and control of the horse.
What can you claim for under horse public liability insurance?

- Horse kicked out while riding side by side, broke rider’s leg Claim amount paid out: £26,000
- Horse kicked another horse during turnout Claim amount paid out: £10,000
- Horse escapes from field, collides with a vehicle, injures third party Claim amount paid out: £9,000
Without insurance, the above costs would have been unexpected, and come straight out of our members pockets.
Instead they chose to get cover by becoming a One Club member from £5.75 per month.
