Horse Colic Surgery Insurance - £21.66 pm

Cover for the costs resulting from colic surgery, up to £5,000. For any one claim and in the aggregate. Excess of £500 per claim. Annual policy inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax at 12.00% and a £26.00 administration fee. The policy excludes horses aged 15 years or older, at inception or renewal of the policy.

Mortality, Theft & Straying Insurance - £21.70 pm
  • In the event that your horse sustains an Accidental External Visible Injury that results in their death or humane destruction, the theft of the horse or it straying; the insurance will pay out a maximum of the lesser of the horse’s market value or £5,000 in the aggregate per policy term.
  • No vetting required.
  • Insured £5,000 limit in the aggregate with £165 excess.

Horse Disposal Insurance - £2 pm

Costs up to a sum insured of £300, which would contribute to the cost of euthanasia and disposal of the horse as a result of an accidental external visible injury. This section does not carry an excess. Annual policy inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax at 12.00% and a £6.20 administration fee.

Saddlery & Tack Insurance - £5.83 pm

£1,000 sum insured with £200 excess. Annual policy inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax at 12.00% and a £17.00 administration fee.

Equine saddlery and tack that is kept at home or in an outhouse , or frequently transported to and from events, is at risk. If your tack is lost, stolen or damaged, tack insurance will cover the cost of repairing or replacing your tack, subject to the security terms and conditions.

Policy summary

  • Cover is provided for accidental external injury only; injury caused by accidental, violent and visible means where your horse has a visible external wound excluding strains of tendons and ligaments.
  • There is a limit of £1,500 or £3,000 (dependent on claim limit selected) for any one claim and in the aggregate across the policy period.

Admin Fees

  • Premiums are inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax at 12.00% and a £19.00 administration fee.

Policy summary

  • Cover is for colic surgery, and does not cover any bouts of colic that did not result in the horse undergoing surgery under general anaesthetic. There is a limit of £5,000 per claim and in the aggregate.
  • Costs of after care is included up to a maximum of 50% of the cost of the surgical procedure or for no more than 15 days whichever is the lesser value.
  • Cover is provided for a maximum of two horses which you own or have on full loan, or four horses if you have a Bronze, Gold Family or Platinum membership, as named of the certificate of insurance.
  • An excess of £500 applies to each and every claim.

What’s not included

  • The policy excludes horses aged 15 years or older, at inception or renewal of the policy.
  • Cover is not available for any horses which has suffered from or shown signs of colic in the past.
  • Livery costs (whilst at the equine hospital/boarding costs) are excluded.

  • Cover is provided for the market value of saddlery and tack that has been lost, stolen or destroyed owned by you up to the value of £1,000.
  • An excess of £200 applies to each and every claim.
  • Saddlery and Tack must be stored in a locked building, and cover for theft shall only apply if visible and violent force was used to enter the locked building.

  • You have 14 days from receiving the policy to write confirming that you do not wish to continue, any premium which has already been paid will be returned in full. After this 14 days you can cancel the policy at any time and a prorata refund will be issued minus a £15 admin charge or the balance of the policy is due, whichever is the lesser amount.
  • Amendments to policies and copies of insurance certificates are chargeable with a small admin fee of £10 per policy/certificate. This includes adding or changing named horses.
  • If payments fail or do not process for any reason, your cover will stop with immediate effect.
  • Policies run for one year from the date of joining. Payments will be taken, monthly or annually depending on the options chosen during sign up and will recur until cancelled.
  • If you have made a claim or you are aware of an incident that may give rise to a claim during the current period of insurance, then you must pay the annual premium in full.

Do I need to be a Harry Hall One Club member to purchase Horse Vet Fee Insurance?

Yes, you will need to be a One Club member to benefit from Harry Hall’s horse insurance covers. However, it’s super simple to become a Bronze, Gold or Platinum member depending on your insurance and benefit requirements.

You simply select the membership you’d like at the start of the checkout process to unlock access to our Vet Fees, Horsebox and Horse Trailer policies.

Do I register with my horse’s stable name or passported name?

Please register with your horse’s passport name and number, not their stable name.

Can I pay for my vet fees policy in instalments?

Our Vet Fee Insurance is available on an annual subscription or monthly payments, with no extra fees for spreading your payments monthly.

Is there an excess under the vet fees policy?

The veterinary fees section carries an excess of £165, the saddlery and tack section carries an excess of £200 and colic carries an excess of £500 which is payable on each and every claim.

Do I need to tell you if I sell my horse or wish to add a horse to the vet fees policy?

Yes, but this can be easily updated online via your insurance portal. Click ‘Manage my policy’ at harryhall.com, login and click ‘manage my horses’ to add a new or remove a horse on your policy. Changes to your policy that require issuing new documents will incur a small admin fee as stated in your policy documents.

My previous policies had exclusions for example on the hind limb, will these apply to this policy?

No, there are no personalised exclusions on this policy as the cover is only for accidental external visible injury only. The only case that such an injury would not be covered, is if it occurred prior to taking out the policy.
