Lottie & Danson, A Family Favourite
For Lottie and her much loved horse, Danson, qualifying for the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) was a dream come true. From the excitement of qualifying to the unforgettable experience of competing at HOYS, it was a journey filled with special moments, wonderful support and memories to treasure.
With support from the Veteran Horse Society (VHS) and Harry Hall, the experience meant even more to Lottie and her family, showing that being part of HOYS is about so much more than what happens in the ring.Their Best Friend
Twenty one year old Moonstone Dance Fever, known at home as Danson, really has been a once in a lifetime pony for Hayley’s family.
He has been with them since he was a foal and, over the past six years, has helped introduce both her daughters Fearne and Lottie to their first rising trots and adventures off the lead rein then onto their First Ridden classes.
Danson is their best friend, their greatest teacher, and a truly irreplaceable part of the family.
Qualifying for HOYS in the Veteran class was particularly special for Lottie.
She had never competed at the show before and, just a year earlier, had been standing at the ringside watching her big sister ride Danson in the 123cm Open Show Hunter Pony class. This time, it was Lottie’s turn to make her own memories with him.
Peace of Mind
For Hayley, insuring Danson with Harry Hall One Club was about having peace of mind as he got older.
“I wanted peace of mind knowing he was covered, especially as he’s a more mature pony. I really liked that Harry Hall offers cover with no age limits and options specifically suited to older horses.”
The vet fee cover for accidental external injuries has been particularly reassuring, giving the family protection against unexpected accidents without needing to take out illness cover.
“Knowing Danson can be covered for those unexpected accidents gives me reassurance without needing expensive illness cover.”
A HOYS Experience to Remember
From qualifying for HOYS to stepping into the ring, Lottie and her family had an unforgettable experience.
Hayley, Lottie’s mum, shared how much the support from VHS and Harry Hall meant to them:
“From the moment we qualified for HOYS, the VHS team and Harry Hall have been incredibly supportive, making everyone feel so welcome and truly part of the team.
The generosity of the class sponsors made the whole experience even more special for Lottie and all the competitors. Meeting them the evening before and receiving such amazing, personalised gifts, beautiful rugs, rosettes and a trophy was incredibly thoughtful and something we will always remember.
The care and effort that went into making everyone feel special was just wonderful. Before we had even stepped into the ring, we already felt like winners!
An unforgettable experience and one we are so grateful to have been part of. ❤️”
