At Harry Hall, we love celebrating our members' achievements, and few stories capture the special bond between horse and rider quite like that of Lucy and her much-loved partner Inverin Paddy (Joey).

From finding her "fate pony" six years ago to enjoying an unforgettable experience at the Horse of the Year Show 2026, their journey is one of friendship, trust and shared success

Easy to Understand Cover

Lucy and 15 year old Inverin Paddy, affectionately known as Joey (after one from “The Only Way is Essex”) have shared six years together and are now looking forward to the biggest stage of their partnership.

Joey came into Lucy’s life at a poignant time, spotted by her dad at a show just before she lost her beloved pony of 20 years.

From the very beginning, Joey felt like a true “fate pony”. Easy-going at home and at shows, with a mischievous side thrown in, he loves his treats, cuddles and countryside hacks and has helped Lucy achieve more than she ever imagined.

Lucy discovered Harry Hall One Club after a friend recommended it, and after comparing a quote with her previous insurer, decided to make the move.

Since qualifying for Horse of the Year Show, Lucy and Joey have enjoyed an unforgettable experience, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Reflecting on the event, Lucy said:

“I enjoyed very much taking Joey to HOYS and the class itself was great fun. We had a great time.”

As a Harry Hall One Club member, Lucy also appreciated the support she received throughout her HOYS journey.

“The Harry Hall sponsorship and the VHS gifts were lovely and a real keepsake. Thank you both.”

She was particularly touched by the personal support from the Harry Hall team on the day.

“It was so above and beyond of Alex to come to my lorry afterwards to see Joey and give me my rug. “

We’re incredibly proud of everything Lucy and Joey have achieved together. Their story is a wonderful example of the partnership, trust and friendship that can develop between horse and rider, and we’re delighted to have been a small part of their HOYS experience.
