Horse Trailer & Horsebox Insurance Terms and Conditions

Horse Trailer Conditions & Exclusions

• An excess applies to each and every claim of £100 for accidental loss or damage increasing to £150 in respect of Malicious Damage or Theft to/of the trailer or £300 in respect of Malicious Damage or Theft to/of the trailer whilst not at the insured’s home.
• When not in use the trailer must be kept in a locked building or secured with a wheel clamp or hitchlock.
• If, at the time of damage, the Horse Trailer sum insured is 85% or less of its market value then we will only pay out in proportion of the valid claim to that percentage. However, if you bought the Horse Trailer as new within 12 months of the start date of this policy and it is lost or it would not be economical to repair it; we will pay the purchase price or we may replace it as new at our discretion. (Applies to policies commencing after 1st June 2023)

Horse Trailer Amendments, Cancellations and Payment

• You have 14 days from receiving the policy to write confirming that you do not wish to continue, any premium which has already been paid will be returned in full. After this 14 days you can cancel the policy at any time and a prorata refund will be issued minus a £15 admin charge or the balance of the policy is due, whichever is the lesser amount.
• Amendments to policies and copies of insurance certificates are chargeable with a small admin fee of £10 per policy/certificate. This includes changing trailer chassis number.
• If payments fail or do not process for any reason, your cover will stop with immediate effect.
• Policies run for one year from the date of joining. Payments will be taken, monthly or annually depending on the options chosen during sign up and will recur until cancelled.
• If you have made a claim or you are aware of an incident that may give rise to a claim during the current period of insurance, then you must pay the annual premium in full.
